Cul Mor, Stac Pollaid, Suilven
Acrylic/mixed media on hardwood - 60 x 60 cms. One of a series of paintings on the subject of Assynt, in the far Northwest of Scotland. Inverpolly is a Geo Park, full of bog and lochans with stunning mountains and flora, perfect if you enjoy walking and painting (or photography for that matter). It can be extremely challenging for the walker, weather is unpredictable and a good level of fitness is essential, as is plentiful supplies and a tent can be useful. Getting bogged down or even lost is common, to the novice, and I suppose that is part of the attraction from my perspective. It is one of the last great wildernesses in these isles, and very beautiful too.
